Through this challenging time, the resilience and strength of the Mandeville Canyon community have inspired us all.

Due to the diligence and hard work of our brave firefighters, our canyon has survived mostly intact. We owe them our deepest gratitude!

Nevertheless, one Upper Mandeville family in the 3300 block lost their home to the wildfire and as a community we grieve for them. In an effort to support our neighbor through this unimaginably difficult time, many in our community have expressed a desire to assist them.

If you would like to contribute, please send your VISA gift cards to: UMCA, PO Box 49845, Los Angeles, CA 90049.

If you have questions, please post in the Discussion group in WhatsApp or email us at info@uppermandeville.org.

The Upper Mandeville Canyon Association is here to support you, and we will provide further updates as best we can. The situation is dynamic and changing so please refer to official resources for the most accurate and up to date information.

Together, we will navigate this recovery process and rebuild our community. Thank you all for your support.

UMCA works to protect and enhance the quality of life in Mandeville Canyon and the beauty of the surrounding open space through active participation in civic affairs, dissemination of news and information, and the sponsorship of social functions that help make Upper Mandeville Canyon a friendly neighborhood and a terrific place to live.

Thank you to UMCA, MCA, SCPA and BHHA and especially to the LAFD and LAPD for organizing the Wildfire Evacuation Exercises held in 2014 and 2019 in our neighborhood. Thank you also to all the residents who participated. These practice runs will help Fire Fighters and Police prepare and will hopefully help us to remain calm and be safe in a real emergency.

In addition, UMCA initiated the effort to get 24 hour fire-spotting cameras on San Vicente Peak above Mandeville Canyon after which all the surrounding homeowner groups worked to get cameras on their ridges. We are currently working on improving emergency communications in the canyon.

UMCA has greatly improved brush clearance in our Canyon.

We are working to get our fire roads repaired and a reliable emergency communication system.

Please support us in the important work we do by joining UMCA!
